How it Started
Black love is...
beautiful
Meanwhile, Olivia glanced over and noticed the handsome, young soldier in uniform, as he was studying the latest desktop computer technology. She noticed him, but she was focused on finishing school and raising her one year old toddler.
It was November 14, 1997 when Olivia was finishing up an internship at Best Buy as a requirement for school and George was stationed at Fort Gordon, preparing to discharge from the US Army and relocate to another state.
George executed his plan to purchase his new computer so that he could plan for his next move. As he was loading his new computer into his car, he felt compelled to go back into the store to introduce himself to Olivia.
George had come in to Best Buy to purchase a computer and he noticed Olivia, who was helping another customer. Although she'd caught his eye, he convinced himself to stay focused, as he would be leaving the area within a few months.
He did. Then, he asked her if he could take her out.
She said ‘yes’ that night.
A year later, she said ‘yes’ again. George & Olivia were married on June 26, 1999, and they are still saying ‘yes’ two and a half decades later.
